Old Alabama Rails Decals

Old Alabama Rails is undertaking to produce correct decals from the transition era for several railroads for which decals are currently unavailable. We are pleased to offer the following to our visitors:

Louisville & Nashville RR

Freight Steam Lettering in HO and N scales.These decal sets are in four colors: dulux gold as primary color, black for headlight lenses, gold for number plates under headlights, and white for headlight sides. These decal sets are in white. Letter and number designs were obtained from original WPR pounce patterns used to paint the numbers on the original locomotives and set using a specially commissioned computer font designed by Clifford J. Vander Yacht for Old Alabama Rails. We have chosen to offer our WPR decal sets for specific classes of WPR steam engines in order to include correct class data for each locomotive type. When possible, even the hydrostatic test data for air tanks on specific engines are actual test dates visible in vintage photographs of particular engines.

Our first West Point Route decals are for the USRA 2-8-2 Mikados.

Decals include: the West Point Route herald, capacity and road numbers for tender, cab, headlight and backup light sides, correct class data for cab sides, and hydrostatic test data.
